Renata is originally from South Africa, and is an alumna of the University of North Texas, the University of Southern California and the University of Texas. After completing her doctoral studies in viola performance at the University of Texas under the tutelage of Professor Roger Myers, Renata moved to Luxembourg and is currently involved in various musical projects, from the baroque to the contemporary, as well as teaching violin and viola at the Echternach music school. She is a substitute with various resident groups, including the Orchestre de Philharmonie. (During her studies in Austin, she was a section violist with the Austin Symphony Orchestra and the Austin Lyric Opera Orchestra). Susan Dubois and Donald McInnes were her previous tutors.
