Of Egyptian origin on his father's side and Belgian on his mother's, Hany Heshmat studied music in Belgium with O.Assad for guitar and J.P.Peuvion for chamber music. He devoted himself to contemporary music for guitar, collaborating with composers such as C. Ledoux and C. Lenners, with whom he has just recorded a CD for the NEOS label. He currently performs as a soloist and chamber musician, notably with the violinist Vania Lecuit, the guitarist Josip Dragnić, the mandolinist Alla Tolkacheva and with the plectrum ensemble and the Noise Watchers ensemble. Together with Josip Dragnić, he is artistic director of the 'Festival de Guitare de Luxembourg' and teaches at the Conservatoire de la Ville de Luxembourg.
