Biography
Luxemburg violinist and conductor, Darko Milowich made his home in Luxemburg after completing his studies and master’s in Belgrade, Moscow and Zürich. He performed in the majority of most important concert halls of Europe, Far East and Americas, either as a soloist or member of chamber music formations, member of the Luxemburg Philharmonic or Soliste Europeens. The holder of an important number of awards and a guest at numerous summer festivals, Darko Milowich has taught at the Royal Conservatory of Mons (Belgium), given masterclasses in Austria, Croatia and Italy and took part as the member of the jury of international competitions. As the founder and director of the ensemble “d’arco”, he made his way to the worldwide audience collaborating with a discographic company “Naxos” mostly with his first ever recordings of Haydn works.
Once lecturer at the Royal Conservatory in Mons (Belgium), he is a founding member of Orquestra Nacional de Cabo Verde and collaborator of Université Luxembourg after obtaining a title of “docteur es lettres” of the same university.
Recently, he was awarded the title of the “Knight of the Order of the Oak Crown of Grand Duchy of Luxembourg” for his contribution to the culture of that country.
