Véronique Nosbaum

Voice

A Luxembourg soprano, Véronique Nosbaum devoted herself to singing after a master's degree in literature at the Sorbonne nouvelle. At the same time, she began singing at the Conservatoire Darius Milhaud in Paris, then studied singing at the Conservatoire Royal de Liège with Greta de Reyghere. She continues to train with Monique Zanetti, Klesie Kelly and Hubert Weller, among others. In masterclasses, she has also worked with Emmanuelle Haïm (CMBV) and Isabelle Desrochers, among others.
After a scholarship at the Laboratorio Toscano per la Lirica at the Teatro Verdi in Pisa (Italy), she sang solo roles in operas by Gluck, Mozart, Monteverdi, Purcell, Händel and others, in the operas of Pisa, Lucca, Livorno, the Opéra Royal de Wallonie, She has appeared as soloist with conductors including Emmanuel Krivine, Pierre Cao, Federico Maria Sardelli, Jean Deroyer, Filippo Maria Bressan, Frank Agsteribbe, Patrick Davin, Korneel Bernolet and Jacques Mercier.
Mainly active in early music, she is also interested in contemporary music, which has led her to work with Claude Lenners, George Aperghis and Pierre Bartholomée in particular, as well as with internationally renowned French artists such as Sylvie Blocher and Pierre Coulibeuf for art cinema.


In 2019 she was nominated for the Deutscher Klassikpreis – Opus Klassik 2019 in the Sängerin des Jahres (Female Vocalist of the Year) category for the CD The Voyager, melodies by Albena Petrovic.
A multidisciplinary artist with a passion for literature, Véronique works with theatre companies. In 2010, Véronique co-founded the cantoLX ensemble, whose recordings have been acclaimed by the international press: IMA nomination for Fescobaldi/Cage – Songs of irrelevance and Passion (Label et'cetera), Découvertes Award by Crescendo Magazine, IMA and Editor's Choice by Gramophone Magazine for Antwerp Requiem, the world's first recording of Flemish masses for the dead dating from 1650, made with the B'Rock ensemble.
She organises the small ‘Passions’ music festival at Neimenster Abbey in Luxembourg, focusing on the Baroque passions repertoire.
She shares her passion and teaches singing and baroque singing at the Conservatoire de la Ville de Luxembourg.
