Majerus Thierry has been a clarinettist with the Grand Ducal Military Band for 33 years, where he was principal clarinettist for 20 years.
In addition to playing in the orchestra, he has also played in dance music as well as in various chamber music formations, most of them in smaller clarinet formations. E-flat and bass clarinets are also regularly used, as is the case with the concerts for the EME.
Thierry Majerus is also active as a teacher, both as a long-standing clarinet teacher at the UGDA music school and at the music conservatories in Esch-sur-Alzette and Luxembourg. He also acts as a juror for various music competitions.
As a qualified conductor, he passes on his knowledge in orchestral training courses as well as in rehearsals.
Outside of music, Thierry Majerus pursues his passion as a triathlete.
