Pascal Schumacher trained in classical percussion, jazz vibraphone, and musicology across conservatories in Luxembourg, Strasbourg, Brussels, and The Hague. He holds Master’s Degrees in musicology from Marc Bloch University Strasbourg and jazz vibraphone from Koninklijk Conservatorium The Hague. Schumacher's awards include the Django d’Or (2005), Music:LX (2012), ECHO Jazz (2012), JTI Trier Jazz (2014), and the Global Grant by kulturLX (2024).
He has collaborated with notable musicians such as Jef Neve, Francesco Tristano, Sylvain Rifflet, Nicolas Dautricourt and Kenny Barron, and has composed for dance, theater, and film.
In 2018, Schumacher began focusing on solo projects after performing at the Jazz & The City Festival in Salzburg, leading to his debut album *SOL* (2020) and *LUNA* (2022). *SOL* explores solo themes, while *LUNA* features the Belgian string ensemble Echo Collective. He is currently developing a triptych inspired by Philip Glass. Since 2022, he has worked with Sebastian Studnitzky and Edward Perraud, delivering dynamic live performances as part of the group SINGÜLAR.
Pascal is a Yamaha Artist, Professor of Jazz and Classical Percussion at the Conservatoire de Musique de Luxembourg, Artistic Director of the 'Reset' Music Festival at Abbaye Neimenster, and an Ambassador for SOS Children's Villages International – Luxembourg.
