Permanent wokshops
Once a week, percussionist Marcel Sawuri offers djembés and singing workshops. The objective is to enjoy music and learn to play together. Through music, the percussionist creates a moment of sharing and conviviality and manages to stimulate motor skills, movement, coordination and memory. Through the universal language of music, this musical moment highlights the elderly and people suffering from illness.
The worshops take place for elderly at the HELP Centre de Jour in Dudelange, at the Centre de Jour Muselheem in Wasserbillig and for people with multiple sclerosis from MS Luxembourg.
The project exists for the beneficiaries to:
- Enjoy playing music and especially playing together
- Create and strengthen friendly bonds
- Create a moment of sharing and conviviality
- Stimulate motor skills, movement, coordination, memory, rhythm, musical listening…
Workshops in the psychiatric ward of the Kannerklinik (CHL)
April – August 2021
Once a week, Robert Bodja leads djembe and singing workshops. Through music, the percussionist creates a moment of sharing and socializing and enriches the children. Creativity and self-esteem are strengthened.
The workshops aim for the children to:
- Enjoy music
- Learn to make music together
- Create a moment of sharing and conviviality
- Build their self-esteem
Workshops for people with specific needs and refugees
April – July 2020
Once a week the percussionist Marcel Sawuri offers djembé workshops to the people of Carr Sud of the APEMH and from the Caritas home in Esch. The aim is to enjoy the music and learn to play together. Through the music, the percussionist creates a moment of exchange and conviviality and manages to stimulate motor skills, movement, coordination and memory. Through the universal language of music, this musical moment enriches the participants.
Workshops in the Hôpital Intercommunal de Steinfort
September – December 2019
Once a week, percussionist Marcel Boawesse offers djembés and singing workshops for the elderly at the Steinfort Intercommunal Hospital. The objective is to enjoy music and learn to play together. Through music, the percussionist creates a moment of sharing and conviviality and manages to stimulate motor skills, movement, coordination and memory. Through the universal language of music, this musical moment highlights the elderly.
