Sara Carneiro was born in Lisbon and soon began her musical studies, first at the Academia de Amadores de Música and then at the Instituto Gregoriano de Lisboa.
She holds a master's degree in music pedagogy and a degree in music education – singing, from the Catholic University of Portugal in Porto.
