Born in Nancy in 1984, Pierre Brouant developed a passion for the piano at an early age. After making a name for himself at the Conservatoire Régional de Nancy in classical piano in the 1990s, he was admitted to the Paris Conservatoire in 2003, where he won the gold medal in the Competition of the Year for the Diplôme de Formation Supérieure. Initially choosing a career as a classical soloist, he gave concerts in his favourite repertoire (Debussy, Ravel, Chopin, Rachmaninov in particular) in Europe and the United States. Later, following his intuition and his ability to improvise, he naturally moved towards jazz and broadened his horizons with the guitar. In the 2020s, he became a composer for his own groups, as well as others in which he appeared, while maintaining a special relationship with arranging.
Currently active on piano and guitar, both solo and in formations ranging from duo to big band, he performs from his native Lorraine all the way to the international scene, in clubs and festivals that make up the major jazz venues.
