Cipriano De Guzmán Jr.

Cipriano De Guzmán Jr. is an opera singer, chorister and music teacher based in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. He has won numerous prizes in prestigious international vocal competitions in cities such as New York, London, Rome, Tokyo, Osaka, Yokohama, Lugano, Barcelona and Salzburg. Notably, he became the first Filipino to win the American Protégé International Music Competition twice, performing at Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall ä New York in 2016 and 2017. In July 2024, he won First Prizes in the Grand Prize Virtuoso Competition at the Petit Palau de la Música Catalana and the Solitär Mozarteum Salzburg.

In 2024, the Pasig City Government awarded him the ‘Gawad Parangal sa mga Natatanging Pasigueno’ (Pasig City Prize for Exemplary Citizens) in the Culture and Arts category. He also received the award for Best Male Performance in a Concert at the 35th Aliw Awards (Manila, 2022) and became the first Filipino Classical singer to be nominated in the Best Male Soloist in Classical Music category at the 16th BOH Cameronian Arts Awards in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (2019).

De Guzmán has twice been awarded the Ani Ng Dangal Prize in Music (2018 and 2019) by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts of the Philippines. 
He holds two Masters in Music: a Master in Opera Performance from the Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu in Barcelona and a Master of Music in Vocal Performance, obtained with distinction (St. Cecilia Award) from the Elisabeth University of Music in Japan.
