Anne Simon, a Drama and Theatre graduate from Royal Holloway, University of London, got first experiences at Théâtre National du Luxembourg and Ruhrfestspiele Recklinghausen. In 2007, she won an emerging directors' competition and became a fixture in Luxembourg's theaters and international stages like Salzburg and New York City. Whether as artist in residence at Théâtres de la Ville or collaborating with collectives like Independent Little Lies or Volleksbühn, she explores visual storytelling, blending realism and abstraction, and delves into themes of power, gender, and social structures. Simon experiments with extended reality and creates immersive, multi-layered narratives that challenge audience perceptions and embrace theatre's immediacy, and tactility.
