Amber Fasquelle

Praised as “A Superb Mezzo Soprano with acting chops that held the audience riveted.” ( Seen and Heard International), the American-Italian Mezzo-soprano, Amber Fasquelle, is one of the leading up and coming innovative artists of her generation.

Amber began her European career as a young artist with the Deutsche Oper Berlin, she sang many roles with the company including highlights as fox in The Cunning Little Vixen, Flora in LaTraviata, as well as notable collaborations with conductors and directors such as Simon Rattle and Frank Castorf, where she was recognised as an outstanding actress in his innovative production of La Forza del Destino. 

In the 2019/2020 and 2021 seasons, Amber was invited by Placido Domingo to join his Opera Studio, Perfeccionament Placido Domingo, in Valencia Spain. She spent the pandemic singing frequently in Recital, and was noted as a superb Lola in Cavalleria Rusticana under the baton of Jordi Bernacer and the direction of Giancarlo del Monaco. 

In 2021 Amber was a finalist in the international Montserrat Caballe competition. 

Beyond Berlin and Valencia, Amber has worked closely with Theater Freiburg and the Cincinnati Opera.

In 2023, Amber took part in Berlin’s experimental music scene joining the premiere international female ensemble FMK.

In 2024 Amber sang primarily in concert, premiering with the Amarillo Symphony Orchestra. And the London Festival of American Music featuring the music of acclaimed female composer Odaline de la Martinez.

In the 2025/ 2026 seasons Amber joins Theater und Orchester Heidelberg as a leading ensemble member where she will sing Octavian in Der Rosenkavalier and Dorabella in Così fan tutte. 

At the age of 23 Amber was invited to join the Atelier Lyrique of the Opera Bastille in Paris. 


Amber Fasquelle has received degrees from the Cleveland Institute of Music, the Cincinnati College conservatory of music, and Case Western Reserve University in the vocal arts and French and German literature. Throughout her education Amber has worked extensively with the acclaimed singer Thomas Quasthoff.
